Q&A - Sources for Larger Hip Sashes I was recently approached at an event with this question: "I enjoy your web site and I have two of your books. I have a quick question. Do you have a resource for hip sashes for larger hipped women? I am looking for a style that I can wear to classes that will not only wrap all the way around my hips, but have coins that go around to the front!" Well, I love hip wraps and wear them to workshops, when I teach and integrate them into performance wear! I think they are one of my favorite and most indispensable garments. I have a collection that I have been acquiring over the past few years. Each year I go to Rakkasah and purchase one or two. I love them because they are small, easy to store, come in LOTS of different colors and configurations, and make a very versatile costume piece. Over time, the crochet can come loose, catch and pull or coins and beads can start to chip off. At the last Rakkasah I bought a very nice long belt in red from Scheherezade Imports. I found her selection in larger length hip sashes to be impressive, and she carries quite a number of different styles and colors. I recommend joining her buyers club and getting her catalog. But if you call her direct, and tell her what you need, she will undoubtedly have something to fit.
